- Dr. Vicky Drapeau is a registered dietitian and Full Professor in the Department of Kinesiology at the Faculty of Medicine of Université Laval. She is a researcher affiliated with the Centre for Research on Nutrition, Health and Society (NUTRISS), the Institute of Nutrition and Functional Foods (INAF), the Interuniversity Research Centre on Teacher Training and Professional Development (CRIFPE), and the Quebec Heart and Lung Institute Research Centre (IUCPQ), Obesity and Metabolism Axis. She is also Co-Chairholder of the Nautilus Plus Research Chair in Teaching and Leadership on the Promotion of Healthy Lifestyle Habits, Scientific Director of Université Laval’s Sustainable Health Initiative, and Director of the Graduate Microprogram in Healthy Lifestyle Habits. With over 30 years of clinical experience as a practicing dietitian, Dr. Drapeau brings a strong translational perspective to her academic work, ensuring that research findings inform real-world practice.
- Her research program focuses on understanding eating behaviors related to body weight and health, and on developing targeted, evidence-based strategies to promote positive and sustainable eating behaviors among children, adults and families. A central area of expertise is the design and evaluation of family-based and web-based interventions aimed at supporting health-promoting eating behaviors, with a focus on accessibility, feasibility, and equity. Guided by the principle “Better understanding to better intervene,” her work bridges research, practice, and public health to improve health outcomes at both individual and population levels.
