Call for abstracts
Posters and oral communication

The 10th edition of EGEA conference will bring together the scientific community and stakeholders from across disciplines to explore how fruit and vegetables can drive healthier and more sustainable food systems. Discussions will address systemic challenges and opportunities, spanning health, environment, socio-economic perspectives, innovation, and consumer engagement.

Abstract Themes

Abstracts are invited on the following themes, in line with the systemic and interdisciplinary nature of the conference:

  • Food system & sustainability
  • Human health, nutrition & food safety
  • Consumer behaviour
  • Transnational multi-partner projects, covering the entire food chain – from production to consumption

Guidelines for Abstract Submission

  • Eligibility: Abstracts must be based on recent (2024–2026) or unpublished work. If already published, clearly reference the source at the top.
  • Language: English.
  • Format: Word document (max. one page), Arial font size 10, single spacing.
  • Structure:
    • Title (capitalize only first word and proper nouns, no abbreviations)
    • Authors & Institutions (list initials, surnames, affiliations, countries; presenting author indicated with * and email provided)
    • Conflict of Interest statement for all authors
    • Abstract body: max. 450 words (excluding references). Must include objectives, methods, results, and conclusions. Tables, figures, and graphs are not permitted.
  • Theme: Authors must indicate which theme(s) their submission addresses.
  • Presentation Preference: Please state whether you prefer poster and/or oral communication.

Review Process & Notification

  • Abstracts will undergo peer review by an editorial committee, then at least two members of the scientific committee, according to theme.
  • Evaluation criteria: relevance, originality, scientific rigor, and quality of results.
  • Authors will be notified of acceptance and presentation format.
  • Acceptance implies registration by the presenting author, at a preferential rate for selected oral and poster presenters.

Deadlines

  • Abstract submission deadline: February 16, 2026
  • Notification of acceptance: April 20, 2026
